Many games of one-on-one later, Jack and Terry still live and breathe basketball together. After graduating from Marymount University, Terry coached Jack's Arlington travel basketball teams. He was tapped by his former Marymount assistant coach, Kevin McLinton to join his staff at St. Stephen's as JV coach. Jack was Terry's first recruit. But instead of playing on JV for Terry, Jack made varsity as a freshman and just finished his third season playing for former University of Maryland guard Kevin McLinton. Kevin puts Jack through "college-like" workouts and has seen Jack's game steadily improve.
Jack has been blessed by great coaches and a rich basketball environment in Washington, DC. It's a world that Jack has fostered -- an extended family of college players and coaches that trace back to Chuck Driesell's basketball camp. On Jack's wall is the famous quote from that summer camp: "The harder you work, the luckier you get." As Jack enters his senior year at St. Stephen's, his passion for basketball shows no sign of letting up. Now his "basketball camp" is the St. Stephen's gym where he can be found almost every afternoon. If he's not there, check out Marymount's gym where he sneaks in to play pick-up games with the college players. Jack Hamilton is very lucky and he works hard at it every day.
